This is the HO Scale Brass PFM Tenshodo NP SP&S GN 4-6-6-4 Loco Class Z-6 Crown. This is what we call a FIXER-UPPER and ALL SALES FINAL. Please read the entire description before buying this model from us today. It’s in USED but nice condition, comes with original box, the old and dangerous yellow foam has been discarded, both the loco and tender will be carefully re-wrapped in tissue with new bubble wrap to protect it in transit. This is a heavy model—the loco alone weighs 1 lb 14 oz so almost 2 full pounds there. Late 1960s run CROWN model. Has the CROWN logo but is not the sound version. It does have a detailed back head inside the cab and the stock extra-long draw bar with three (3) tender-pin holes. Model is factory painted black including the gear box cover plates. Fluting on the main rod is unpainted. No sound cam. No holes for sound in the tender. This was likely the final non-sound version that Tenshodo made for PFM. Large open frame motor. Kadees on both ends. Wheel treads are shiny, no dirt build up, but it’s clear the model has been run at least a little bot. All plastic brake shoes are present and accounted for. A few small paint nicks. Decals were put on by the model’s only owner. These came in factory painted but as the NP, SP&S and GN all had the same design, Tenshodo painted the models and included decals in the box so the buyer could letter it however he wanted to do it. Only decals included are the ones applied to the model. There are a few loose pipes under the can and along the underside of the running boards. Please note the two images we’ve included showing the front of the loco with the articulated steam pipes detached. This design has functional articulated steam pipes. The ends of those pipe joints are a GRAVITY seat into the tops of the front cylinders. So if you turn the model upside down those will fall out of there seats naturally. Easy enough to pop them right back in with a pair of tweezers, but please be aware of this part of the design of this model. They are not broken and function just fine during regular operation. The wheel treads are oxidized so need to be cleaned with a q-tip and some solvent. That’s up to the buyer to do. Bench tested upside-down, the model runs as intended, smooth, but gets noisier at higher speeds. You’ll want to clean the wheels, clean and regrease the gear boxes, oil the motor bearings before operating it for any time. This is a very solid, beautifully made Japanese model from the late 1960s. It is used and has a few small issues as we have described. As such this model is what we call a FIXER-UPPER and ALL SALES FINAL NO REFUND here. It is exactly as we have described it. If you’re handy with these kinds of issues then we’re confident that you will LOVE owning and operating this model as it was designed to run and pull long trains on your layout. Our price INCLUDES USPS Priority Mail Insured Shipping with Signature Confirmation to the lower 48 States. If you have any questions please drop us a line or give us a call. Thanks for looking today. Cheers!
